It was a fifth place overall showing for the Escalon JV Lady Cougars basketball team, traveling to the Ripon Tournament from Thursday, Dec. 26 through Saturday, Dec. 28.

The squad opened up with a 39-19 loss to Tokay on Dec. 26. Leading scorer for the girls in the loss was Rachel Farley with seven.

Round two saw the JV girls defeat Modesto by a 39-33 score on Friday, paced by eight points from Analise Silveira and seven from Kelsey Webster.

They closed out the successful tournament by winning their second of three contests, defeating Ceres by a 39-32 decision on Saturday, Dec. 28. Two players were in double figures in the win, led by Farley with 16 and Silveira with 11.
