Fish Plant, Fishing Clinic At Oak Grove Regional Park
Fish

One thousand pounds of catfish will be planted at Oak Grove Regional Park later this week thanks to the ‘Fishing In The City Program’ through the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (DFW). The plant will coincide with a free fishing clinic conducted by DFW on Saturday, July 21 from 8 a.m. to noon at Oak Grove. The clinic, which will be held across from the Nature Center, will provide tips, pointers and information, rod loans and free bait for program participants.

Kids age 15 years and younger fish for free at Oak Grove’s 10-acre lake, a $5 fishing permit fee and valid CA fishing license are required for those 16 years of age or over. A vehicle parking fee will also apply, as do all State Fish and Game laws.

Oak Grove Regional Park is on Eight Mile Road and Interstate 5 in Stockton. Park gates open at 8 a.m. and close at dusk. For more information, call (209) 953-8800 or log onto www.sjparks.com, Facebook or Instagram.
