Just a couple of weeks into the new season for El Portal bowlers, the league is still looking to fill some spots.

They still have two teams vacant and many openings on other teams. Support El Portal Science Camp by joining in to enjoy some competitive bowling. The league bowls on Thursdays at 10 a.m., McHenry Bowl in Modesto. Come early and join even if you are a beginner.

The most recent action saw We Been Robbed on top with a 7-1 mark, followed by Dutch Girls, 6-2; Escalon Body & Frame, U-3 Ranch, 5-3; Bartelink Dairy, Elaine’s Travel, 4-4; Better Late Than Never!, What The Heck, Memorial Splitting Headaches, 2-6; Team 10, 1-7; Team 11, Team 12, 0-8.

Top scores for the week were posted by Ruth Sonke, 170 scratch game; Stacy Lub, 468 scratch series; Sandy Cox, 246 handicap game and 639 handicap series.

For the season to date, leaders are Kelly Homen, individual high average, 161 and high scratch series, 504; Ruth Sonke, scratch game, 186; Luann Oney, 648 handicap series; Sandy Cox, 246 handicap game.
