Escalon High School was the host site for a two-day youth football camp, June 24 and 25, drawing dozens of participants from third through eighth grades. Current EHS football and flag football players, along with coaches, put on the camp, offering instruction, running drills and encouraging the young players.
Photos from the camp show a defender getting a hand up to try and knock the pass away from the intended receiver as other players in the vicinity watch the action unfold. Also, flag football strategy is discussed before the two sides run a play and a youngster goes through a drill designed to focus on speed and agility.
Camp was hosted from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. each day, wrapping up with a barbecued hot dog lunch on June 25, along with the presentation of camp T-shirts.
