Post Office Thanks

Dear Editor,

On behalf of the employees at the Escalon Post Office, I would like to thank the Love Escalon community volunteers for donating their most valuable possession; their time. Also for their hard work and devotion to making Escalon a better place to live. Their selection of the post office is greatly appreciated.

Due to the serious limitations placed on our budget, we are only allowed to maintain and not to beautify. The Postal Service is supported only by the products and services it sells and receives no federal tax dollars for its operations.

The plants in front of the post office are from my yard and my mother, Lorraine’s, and donations from others. The maintenance of the front is done by volunteer work of Phil Tornquist and his wife Laura, who is a clerk here. I’d also like to thank P & L Concrete for the donation of the decorative stone and Ace Hardware for their donation of the paint. Special thanks to Dave Hall who contacted me with the proposal and project coordinator Brittany Doornenbal and site manager Rein Doornenbal.
