Focus On The Road
letters to the editor

Dear Editor,

Texting and driving is a very well-known major issue especially in today’s society and it needs to be addressed. According to statistics made by an AT&T’s Teen Driver Survey, 97 percent of teenagers stated that they agree to the fact that texting and driving is very dangerous and yet 43 percent of those teenagers said they still do it anyway. This shows that people do in fact know the dangers texting and driving can bring and the consequences it can lead up to but choose to do it anyways and show little care for not only themselves, but the people around them.

There need to be stricter laws and/or more consequences to prevent these kinds of things from happening because if we don’t, more and more innocent people all over the world will end up in the wrong place at the wrong time and could lose their life due to someone else’s irresponsible actions.
