California Roads
Dear Editor,
The State of California has some of the highest taxes in the nation, yet some of the worst roads. With the tax payer dollars, the state needs to reinvest that money towards the reconstruction of our roads. Instead of trying to seal cracks and fill potholes, simply just tear out the old, rough road and completely replace it.
Sometimes, the road becomes rougher after resealing it and filling in the potholes because it is uneven. To fix that is to completely repave the road as a whole, paint the new white and yellow lines, and place new reflectors. Instead of having an old looking road with old, faded lines, missing reflectors, and lumpy filled potholes, you can have a brand new, good looking, and smooth riding road.
Sincerely,
Drake Gillihan
Climate Change Concerns
Dear Editor,
Climate change is a growing problem around the world. Without giving attention to this problem our world will continue to face the problems it does. Our oceans, forests, cities, and so much more have visibly taken the toll of climate change.
We as a community and people who live on this planet can take small steps that make a big change. Things can include recycling, reusing, avoiding littering, converting to electric cars or reducing gas usage, picking up trash, donating to climate change organizations, and so much more. Climate change may not seem like a big deal to you, however time is running out to save the planet we call home.
Sincerely,
Katelynn Craig
Online/Social Media Bullying
Dear Editor,
Online social media bullying is a major problem today.
With people being negative online, it causes more people to have bad mental health and want to be online less. This should concern everyone because you would not know how messed up and how bad it can affect someone until it’s you.
This topic draws my personal attention because I would never want anyone to be down, especially because of another person. There are multiple ways to stop this issue. Social media apps need to start monitoring and limiting the comments you can say. That way, if someone leaves a rude comment, it can be removed. I encourage everyone to start spreading positivity and be nice to one another.

Why Escalon Needs An In-N-Out
Dear Editor,
While Escalon has a decent selection of food, there are not many places to eat. If we had an In-N-Out in town, there would be another dining option. Adding this well-loved food chain would increase the options for the community and visitors. The presence could also attract customers from other areas, not just Escalon. Additionally, this new restaurant would create new job opportunities.
To further the point, In-N-Out has a unique menu, which makes it a popular spot for families and friends. This could bring in a bigger sense of community.
In conclusion, In-N-Out would not only satisfy the need for more dining options, but also foster a sense of community for families, friends, and the people we care for deeply.
