Veryl Sumetz, 81, of Escalon died Tuesday, March 1 at Kaiser Hospital, Fremont.
A native of Petaluma, she had been a resident of Escalon for 25 years. She was employed by Paul Masson Winery for 10 years and Doctors Medical Center, Modesto, for 12 years. She enjoyed crafting, knitting, cooking and took great pride and joy in her garden and in spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Warren J. Sumetz of Escalon; children, Sandra Mangnuson of Escalon, Gary Sumetz of Portland, Oregon; sister, Anita Capra of Petaluma; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held at Burwood Cemetery, Escalon, on Saturday, March 12 at 2 p.m.
