Vera F. "Polly" Ennis, a resident of Escalon, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 28 at Oak Valley Hospital. She was 84 years old.

Born on Feb. 2, 1924, Polly graduated from Escalon High School in 1941 and attended Humphrey School of Business. After a lengthy career as a stenographer for the U.S. government, she retired from Sharpe Army Depot.

She is survived by her sister Molly Ennis Carruth, and by many beloved nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was preceded in death by her six brothers and five sisters.

Visitation was on Friday, Jan. 2 at Deegan Funeral Chapel, Escalon; her memorial service was Saturday, Jan. 3 at Escalon United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Burwood Cemetery.
