Trynie C. Ufkes, 71, passed away Monday, May 24 in Modesto.
She was born in the Netherlands on Aug. 27, 1938 and immigrated to Ripon in 1947. She worked for many years for United Frozen Foods and Gallo. She loved taking pictures and gardening, and had a special love for Christian music and sharing it with others.
She is survived by her sister, Betty Van Vliet of Escalon; her nephews and nieces Yetti (Allen) McKay of Modesto, Wilma (Dirk) Nieuwenhuis of Modesto, Pete (Peggy) Van Vliet of Oakdale, Henry (Diana) Van Vliet of Escalon, Joann A. Van Vliet of Ceres, and Carl (Lori) Van Vliet of Escalon; as well as her cousin Corry Strong of Modesto.
Services were Thursday, May 27 with a graveside service at Burwood Cemetery in Escalon and a memorial service at Escalon Christian Reformed Church.
