Our mother Ruth Pearsh Koch passed away on August 21 at her home. She was born Ruth Pearsh in Houston, Texas to her parents Mary Rowin and William Pearsh.

She married Walter Edward Koch in 1952 in Texas and came to Escalon, California soon after where they raised their seven children. They spent 25 years together until his passing in 1978. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, fishing, and traveling. She obtained her driver’s license at 55 years of age and had her first job at Escalon Packers, and she worked Tri Valley Cannery in Modesto.

She is preceded in death by her husband Walter Edward Koch; her son, Robert Koch, who passed away at just two years old; her sister Myrtle Rowin of Oklahoma. Ruth is survived by her children Mary Weeda of Escalon, WC (Laurie) of Oakdale, Nancy Reeves (Lonny) of Arkansas, Becky Black of Escalon, who took great care of her at her home, Elizabeth Vanderwerff (Pete) of Escalon, David Koch (Lisa) of Oakdale; by her 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter. She is also survived her sister Bea Crunk of Arkansas and three nephews.
