Rose Marie Mineni, 92, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at home on her beloved farm after many years of being cared for by devoted family and caregivers.

Born on April 14, 1922, in Marysville, CA to F. Lorenzo and Carmela Mini, she was the 11th of 16 children. Perhaps because she grew up in a small town in such a large family, she had many aspirations in life. From an early age she was driven and loved business. While managing a local movie theater in Escalon, she met and married Bill Mineni. Together they raised two children and started a number of businesses. One of these still exists today, the California Beauty College, in Modesto, which Rose and Bill opened almost 53 years ago.

An avid reader, she loved to learn new things. She appreciated the finer things, traveling and classical music. In her spare time Mrs. Mineni enjoyed gardening as well as cooking for family and friends.

Survivors include her two children, William P. Mineni of Modesto and Deanna Mineni of Escalon; her siblings, Olivia Moreno of Ripon, Margaret Hessler of Escalon, Mary Veil of Grangeville, ID, Ruby Bavaro of Escalon; grandchildren, Heidi Mineni of Boise, ID, Wendy Jasper of Escalon, Holly Lara of Escalon, Wesley R. Croslow of Ripon, William Mineni Jr. of Modesto; as well as 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, F. Lorenzo and Carmela Mini, along with 11 of her siblings, and her husband of 50 years, William M. Mineni.

An evening visitation will be held on Friday, June 6 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Deegan Funeral Chapel in Escalon. The funeral service will be held the following morning, Saturday, June 7 at 11 a.m. at Deegan Funeral Chapel in Escalon, with a reception to follow.
