Robert Vassar "Buck" Collier, 77, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 3

He was born on June 9, 1932 to Robert T. and Ramona Collier in San Francisco and lived on the peninsula in Hillsboro during his early childhood. The family moved to Southern California where they lived for many years in Palos Verdes Estates.

He graduated from the University of Arizona in 1955 with a B.A. in Business Administration and a commission of Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. After that he served two years at Williams Air Force Base, Chandler, Arizona. There he met and married Martha Parker, his loving wife of 52 years. They had one son, John.

For the last 25 years he managed the family farm in the Escalon area.

Survivors include his wife Martha; his son John; his nephew Robert Enderle (Mary); and his grandchildren, Jacob T. Collier and Katelyn Rose Collier.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert T. and Ramona Vassar Collier and his only sibling, Joan Collier Enderle.

He had a great sense of humor, was fun loving and loved all of his family dearly. He will be missed terribly.

A celebration of life will be held to honor him from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 11 at the farm: Crescent Oaks, 22422 East River Road, Escalon (Sexton and River Road). In memory of "Buck," donations may be made to Community Hospice, Habitat for Humanity or to a charity of your choice.
