Patrick 'Pat' Brennan, 80, of Alturas died Thursday, Sept. 16 at Modoc Medical Center.

He was born to Thomas and Edith Brennan in Stockton. He and his brothers, Jack and Tom, grew up in the cities of Eugene, Oakland, Stockton, and Sonora with their mother after their father's passing in 1933.

Mr. Brennan was a graduate of Sonora High School where he was a member of Future Farmers of America and later became a lifetime member of the American Angus Association. After high school, he served in the National Guard and U.S. Coast Guard where he was a radio operator.

Following his military service, he worked various jobs in Tuolumne County where he met and married his first wife, Lana Bryant, who had a son, Kenneth Stanfield. Eventually, they moved back to the Orr family ranch in Eugene. He raised Suffolk sheep and registered Angus cattle and worked with his brother Jack in the Shell gas delivery business in Jamestown. During this time, he and his wife had two sons.

After the unexpected passing of his wife, he later met and married his second wife, Dee. Once retired, they moved to Alturas. He became a widower again in 2004.

He enjoyed fishing, tinkering, and bragging about his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his brother, Tom Brennan of Oakdale; sons, Patrick Brennan of Escalon, Shannon (Crystal) Brennan of Winnemucca, Nev.; stepson, Kenneth Stanfield; grandchildren, Brent Brennan of Idaho, Jacob Brennan, and Meghan Brennan, both of Nevada; and numerous nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Lana and Dee; parents, Thomas and Edith Brennan; and brother, Jack Brennan.

A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 29 at the Eugene Cemetery with lunch to follow at the Escalon Sportsman's Club, Escalon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that remembrances be made in his name to your local chapter of Future Farmers of America (FFA).
