Melissa Knox, 94, passed away on Monday, September 14 from natural causes.

She was born on January 30, 1915 in Cherokee County, Oklahoma to William and Bertha Caldwell.

She had been a resident of Escalon since 1936, retiring from Escalon Packers in 1980. She was faithful with her Bible reading, and enjoyed quilting and crocheting. She was a member of the Church of the First Born in Modesto.

Survivors include her children, Al and Lorraine Knox, Charles and Tammy Knox, Gary and Cindy Knox, and Russell and Sherry Knox, all of Escalon; her sister Macy Robinson of Strout, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Al Knox; her daughters, Bertha Mason, Leola Best and Ruth Ann Rose; her parents, and her four brothers and two sisters.

Graveside service was Friday, Sept. 18 at Burwood Cemetery, Escalon.
