Mary A. Lowry, 87, passed away on Monday, Feb. 23 at Manteca Care & Rehab Center.

Born on Jan. 7, 1924, she had been a resident of Escalon for the past seven years. She worked for Hospice Thrift Store for five years in Yucca Valley where she had lived for 30 years.

She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her friends. She attended Farmington United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her children Franklin Dale and Jennie Dirks of Escalon and Rick and Linda Lowry of Folsom; her grandchildren, Rodney Dirks of Escalon, Lisa Hawkins of Reno, Suzanne and Oscar Powers of Washington D.C., Marilyn Lowry of Folsom, and Garreth Lowry, also of Folsom; seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; and her brother, Raymond Brummer of Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years John Lowry; her children, John Howard Lowry and baby Joan Dirks; her parents, and her siblings, Helen Bradley, George Brummer and Ted Brummer.

Graveside service was Friday, Feb. 27 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Cypress.
