Mark was able to die in his living room with his girls holding court. He leaves his wife Barbara of 53 years, favorite daughter Suzie and his beautiful granddaughter Izabell. Mark was born in Portland Oregon. He grew up in Alturas Ca. A small town where everyone knew you. The kind of town where everyone had a gun rack in their pick up and would hunt at lunch time. He started working on local ranches at age 13. At age 16 his Dad died and as soon as he and his brother graduated from high school they moved to Concord CA. That may have been the scariest culture shock known to man. After Junior College he attended University of Nevada Reno. He married Barbara in 1966. His daughter Suzie and son Johnny soon followed.
Mark always said he didn’t work a day in his life. He loved the construction equipment world. His 30 year career with Holt of California, a Caterpillar dealership, was exciting and rewarding. He would say he never sold anything just listened to what they wanted and made it happen. Most of his clients became dear friends.
Mark’s favorite things in life were his family, horses, dogs and cats. He also poured his energy into St. Matthias Anglican Church, Lions and Oakdale Community Sharing. If so desired support of these organizations would please him.
Mark was blessed with life full of wonderful friends. He will be missed but he is now meeting up with his son Johnny and so many other family and friends.
Due to the current COVID-19 situation services at St. Matthias will be posted later.
Happy trails to you Cowboy, until we meet again.
