Mae H. Pedro, 92, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, June 1.

She was born in Tracy on Oct. 9, 1917 to Lucio and Palmeria Costa. Her childhood was spent in Tracy, where she met and married her first husband, Albert Silva. They were living in Tracy, parenting two daughters before his tragic death five years later. Mae later married Joseph Pedro.

They moved from Tracy to Lodi, then to Ceres, and finally to Escalon where they raised their family. They were married for 44 years before his passing in 1991.

Mrs. Pedro loved family gatherings, her garden full of bright flowers and the San Francisco Giants. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include two daughters, Judy (Roy) Silva and Shirley (Gary) Augusto, both of Escalon; grandchildren Brent (Joni) Silva of Escalon, Carri (Charlie) Rogers of Yelm Washington, Scott (Cheri) Silva of Salida, and Brian Augusto of Escalon; one brother, Tony Costa of Tracy; 10 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many more adopted grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Albert and her second husband, Joseph; three brothers and two sisters.

Visitation was Tuesday, June 8 at Deegan Funeral Chapel, Escalon.

Rosary will be at 10:30 a.m., and Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 9 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Escalon. Burial at St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Escalon.
