Mable Webb

Mable Sehrt Webb, former longtime resident of Escalon, passed away Oct. 24, 2008 in Huntsville, Alabama. She was 87.

She was born in Delano on June 8, 1921 to Christian and Maggie Canup. She moved to Ripon while in her teens. On July 13, 1946 she married Glenn Sehrt. They settled on Lone Tree Road in Escalon where they lived for the next 25 years. After her husband's death in 1973 she moved into town on Elizabeth Avenue, where she lived for 30 years. She married Arnold Webb, Sr. on June 7, 1992. In 2004 they sold their home and eventually moved to Huntsville to be near her daughter.

Mrs. Webb loved to go dancing and fishing. She was a member of both the Escalon Grange and Pocahontas Club. She was also very active with the Riverbank Senior Citizens.

She leaves behind her husband, Arnold Webb, Sr.; her daughter, Glenda Sehrt Hall and her husband Mike, and grandchildren Glenn, Greg, and Elenya Hall, all of Huntsville. She is also survived by four grandchildren from her deceased son, Gary Kelley - Jeff Leonard and wife Vicki of Escalon, Deborah Hebert and husband Tim of Dublin, Brian Kelley and wife Gail of Modesto, and Scott Kelley of Wells, Nevada. In addition, she had 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Survivors also include four step-children: Arnold Webb, Jr. of Turlock, Arthur Webb of Oakdale, Avis McGinnis of Waterford, and Aletia Copin of Valley Home.

Her ashes will be brought to California, her home state, and interred beside her former husband, Glenn, in the Ripon Cemetery. A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 11 a.m.
