Loren Bruce Stanfield, 61, passed away on Sunday, May 22.

Known as 'Bruce,' he was born on March 27, 1950 in Oakdale to Thomas and Doris Russell Stanfield. He was born with Down's Syndrome. His mother was encouraged to place him in an institution but she instead lovingly cared for him until her passing in 2006.

With a smile that opened hearts, Bruce was full of love. He loved his family, especially the children, and had a special friendship with one of his school friends Barbara. He attended the Alan Short Center in Stockton for many years, participating in the Special Olympics, Art and Band. He was an artist and exhibited and sold many of his paintings at the Alan Short Gallery. He loved music and dancing. His favorite pastime was watching old TV shows like Bonanza, and I Dream of Genie. He could lose himself in the movie Wizard of Oz, showing so much emotion for Dorothy's perils.

Survivors include his twin sister, Bonnie Stanfield of Eureka; his brother David Stanfield (Linda) of Arnold and brother Gary Stanfield (Tina) of Modesto; many nieces and nephews.

His beautiful smile and loving heart will be missed by all.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 3 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Deegan Funeral Chapel in Escalon.

His graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 4 at 11 a.m. at Farmington Memorial Cemetery. There is an online guest book available at www.deeganfuneralchapels.com to share your condolences.

Memorial donations may be made to the Farmington Fire Dept., PO Box 73, Farmington CA 95230.
