Loran Ray Qualls, 54, of Escalon passed away unexpectedly in Hawthorne, Nevada on Wednesday, March 30.

He was born in Springfield, Oregon and grew up in southern California where he met the love of his life and true partner in life, Pat in 1974. He and Pat were married on Aug. 13, 1976; they were married almost 35 years at the time of his passing.

Mr. Qualls enjoyed working on projects at his home, attending country music concerts and spending time with those he loved most. He will be remembered for his kind heart, gentle spirit and his love and devotion to his family and friends. He was always the first to volunteer to help someone in need and last to leave a project, always wanting to do anything possible to help others.

He will also be remembered for his patriotism and his service in the Army National Guard and Army Reserve as well as his skill as a truck driver and the pride he took in his work. Above all else, he will be remembered as a family man.

Survivors include his wife, Pat, a son, Robert L. (Jennifer Jones) of Los Banos and daughter Anastasia "Stacye" R. Qualls of Escalon; brothers Lloyd (Barbara), Lawrence and Leon (Birginia) as well as a sister, Linda Singletary, all of southern California.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Lee Qualls Jr. and Anna Rebecca Mc Kenzie Qualls.

Services will be held at Deegan's Memorial Chapel in Escalon on Friday, April 8 at 11 a.m. followed by gravesite services at Burwood Cemetery.
