Laura (Pennini) Olivieri, 83, of Escalon died on Saturday, Feb. 14 at Evergreen Rehab and Care Center in Modesto.

Born in Stockton, she had lived in Escalon for 65 years. She was a homemaker, a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and Escalon Garden Club. She taught cathechize at St. Patrick's Church and was a past member of the Fireman's Women Auxiliary. She was past president of the Dent School PTA and helped with the school carnival for many years. She also took part in and was active in Escalon's Little League, worked for the Civil Defense during the war as a plane spotter and was also a Brownie troop leader.

Survivors include her children, Lynne Olivieri of Escalon and David Olivieri and wife Sandy of Citrus Heights; grandchildren, Toya Reynolds and Taylor Olivieri, both of Citrus Heights; cousin Lillian Medina of Sacramento; many nieces, nephews and in-laws.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, John Olivieri, in 1999; parents Olivo and Natalina Pennini; sister, Jean Jennings; brothers, Alfred Pennini and Gino Pennini.

Private family visitation is planned.

Funeral services will be Monday, Feb. 23 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Interment will be at Park View Cemetery, East French Camp Road, Manteca. Lunch to follow interment.
