Larry C. McCoid, 55, of Escalon died Saturday, Aug. 14.

Born in Denison, Iowa, he had lived in Escalon for 18 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving from 1967 to 1969. He worked for Gorden-N-Ball in Alamo for 10 years. He liked to ride his Harleys, enjoyed boating and camping and was passionate about cooking, especially on the barbecue.

He is survived by his father, George McCoid of Cupertino; his companion of four years, Sharon Cimpanelli of Escalon; children, Chad Ward of Texas, Kelly Ward of Livermore, Levi McCoid of Modesto, David Balcazar of San Diego, Adrian McCoid-Browder and Megan McCoid-Browder, both of Escalon, and Rachelle Capelo of Hanford, CA; brother, Richard McCoid of Soquel, CA; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Jenny McCoid in 1997 and a brother, Michael Dale McCoid, in 1963.

Visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 19 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Deegan Chapel in Escalon. Services will be Friday, Aug. 20 at 11 a.m. at Burwood Cemetery on River Road.
