Kenneth Gentry Ring, 81, passed away peacefully in Eureka on Wednesday, April 13 with his family at his side.

He was born in Morris, Oklahoma on Jan. 19, 1930 to parents Eunice Gentry Ring and Boyd B. Ring. He came to California as a young child in 1939. His family settled in Escalon in 1944. He attended Escalon High School, and served in the U.S. Army from 1949-1952 and again in 1954-1957, stationed in Japan. He worked for many years in the lumber industry in Northern California. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening.

Survivors include his sons, Kenneth Darryl (Lori) Ring of Escalon, Michael (Lark) Ring of McMinnville, Oregon and Glenn (Sandra) Ring of Fresno; daughter Kathy Ring (Robert) Ross of Stockton; brother Dale Ring of Oklahoma; sisters Patsy Vaught of Riverbank and Carolyn Andrews of Oakdale; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and other family and friends.

A visitation was held on Monday, April 18 at Deegan Funeral Chapel in Escalon. Services were Tuesday, April 19 at the chapel with burial following at Burwood Cemetery.
