Jim M. Vasquez of Stockton passed away on Sunday, May 13 at home surrounded by family and friends.

Born in Stockton in 1939, he was a graduate of Escalon High School and San Joaquin Delta College. He was a draftsman for PG&E; Restaurant owner of Star Café in Tracy; and a partsman for MidCal Tractor for many years. A devoted family man, a passionate photographer, explorer and traveler, and golf enthusiast, he always had a large garden growing for family, friends and neighbors.

Survivors include his loving wife, Rita D. and two daughters, Angie (Sal) Gomez and Victoria Ann Vasquez; grandchildren Alexis and Sophia; brothers Manuel, Joe, Will and Ray Vasquez, all of Stockton, and sister Gloria Greenblat of San Diego.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Vasquez Hearne; his brothers Benjamin and John Vasquez; parents, Benjamin Diaz Vasquez and Margarita Vasquez.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 23, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Frisbee Warren and Carroll, 809 N. California St, Stockton. A Rosary will be held Thursday, May 24 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with visitation from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The funeral mass will be at St. Michaels Church, 5882 Ashley Lane, Stockton, on Friday, May 25 at 10:30 a.m., with burial to follow at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi.
