Jerry A. Strong, 45, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 16.

He was born on December 14, 1963 in Tuolumne City to Walter and Leah Strong.

He was a very talented man; he was an accomplished oil painter who did gorgeous seascapes as well as being a classical musician. He wrote classical piano music, which he recorded at home and even had some pieces copy written. He played the acoustic guitar, electric keyboard and the harmonica; when he lived in Sonora he would go to the nursing home and play the harmonica every week. He loved his dog Heidi, and enjoyed the Opera, doing genealogy research and restoring his piano. His favorite place was the beach in Carmel.

Survivors include his wife Carla, married for 15 years. She is a member of the Riverbank Chamber and the Riverbank Rotary Club; even though Jerry was not a member he was always there to help whenever anyone asked, putting in countless hours to help his wife. He helped with Adopt a Grandparent, Riverbank Cheese & Wine, Stanislaus Elder Abuse and Beyond Earth Day.

He is also survived by his father, Walter Strong of Sonora; his sister, Rebecca Atkins of Sacramento; and his brother, Richard Strong of Sonora.

He was preceded in death by his mother Leah, who passed away in November 2008.

Per his request there will not be a service.

Memorial donations may be made in his name to: Riverbank Rotary Club, PO Box 1471, Riverbank, CA 95367. Designated to Rotary International Foundation.
