Janice Fay Balcita, 74, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014 in Sacramento.

She was born on Nov. 1, 1939 in Huntington, West Virginia.

Mrs. Balcita was a resident of Brownsville for 24½ years. She enjoyed listening to music, dancing, crocheting, reading, fishing, cooking, gardening and spending time with family and friends.

She was cherished for her amazing smile, infectious laugh, and loving heart. Janice will be remembered as a loving mother, wonderful sister, amazing aunt, special grandmother and fabulous friend. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

Survivors include her children and step-children, Robert Lenhart (Denise) of Ohio, George Lenhart of Ohio, Jaclyn Love (David) of California, Bruce Balcita Sr. of Oregon, Manuel Balcita Jr. of Oregon, David Balcita Sr. (Arlyne) of California, Donald Balcita (Eva) of California, Paul Balcita (Debbie) of California, Margaret Bonawitz (Robert) of Indiana and Janette Martinez (Raul) of California; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and her siblings, Joyce Ott (Gene) of California, Edna Adams of California, Crystal Anderson (Sam) of Ohio, Andy Grove (Gloria) of Ohio and Sheila Roach (Roger) of California.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Balcita Sr.; father George Grove and mother Marjorie Grove; sister Carolyn Grove and step-son Jerry Balcita.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Deegan Funeral Chapel.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 12 at 11 a.m. at Deegan Funeral Chapel in Escalon.
