James Ryan Ashley, 22, a former resident of Escalon, died Friday, Sept. 17 as the result of injuries sustained in a car accident near Earle, Arkansas.

"Ryan" was a resident of Marion, Arkansas. He attended Escalon schools until his freshman year and was a graduate of West Memphis High School, Class of 2007.

He was born Sept. 4, 1988 in Modesto. Ryan is survived by his parents Roger Monroe Ashley and Rebecah Ashley of Marion, Arkansas and Lori Lynn Ashley and Eric Benziger of Turlock; his sister Tera Ashley of Turlock; brothers Colton, Michael, Camden, and sisters Alden and Erica, all of Marion, Arkansas and sisters Amanda Benziger of Delhi, Michelle Benziger of Livingston; his grandparents, Jim and Pat Ashley of Arkansas, Steven and Donna King of Indiana and grandfather Leonard Benziger of Turlock; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins from California, Arkansas, and South Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Leroy Wilkinson.

Ryan was loved by all who knew him, he had a smile that will never be forgotten; he will forever be remembered and missed.

Funeral services are Thursday, Sept. 23 at 10 a.m. with visitation from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22 at Thompson Wilson Funeral Home in Wynne, Arkansas. Floral arrangements by Backstreet Florist, 1-800-738-2528.

There will be a Memorial Service in California at a later date.
