Irene Andrade, 92, passed away at Manteca Care & Rehab Center on Tuesday, May 11.

She was born on March 25, 1918 in the Azores. She worked at Escalon Packers and loved working there until she was 72 years old.

She had been a resident of Escalon for over 60 years, where she owned a dairy on Lone Tree Road with her husband Sergio. She enjoyed living there and had a beautiful flower garden; she sold the dairy after her husband Sergio passed away in 1971.

Mrs. Andrade was an extremely kind and generous person who was very faithful to her religion. Her passion in life was to help people, and she enjoyed crocheting, taking walks and baking her delicious cookies and sweetbread.

Survivors include her daughters, Alice and husband Paul Peterson of Carmichael and Barbara Paddack of Escalon; her grandsons, Dan and wife Sarah Paddack of Oceano and Kevin and wife Jill Paddack of Manteca; and three great-grandchildren Larkin Paddack, Bella Paddack and Holden Paddack.

Visitation was Monday, May 17 at Deegan Funeral Chapel in Escalon. Her Rosary/Mass was on Tuesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Escalon with her burial following at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Escalon.
