Ida Belle "Becky" Beck, 90, of Escalon died Sunday, Jan. 23 at her home.

The youngest of nine siblings, Ida Belle Bellamy was born in Natural, Arkansas. As a small child she moved with her family to Fort Cobb, Oklahoma where she grew up and married her husband of 61 years, Owen "Stan" Beck. They left Oklahoma in 1939 with their infant son and settled in Farmington.

Ida lived and worked in the Farmington area for 38 years where she and her husband raised two sons and were very active in their community and in the United Methodist Church, where Ida sang in the choir and taught Sunday school in the early years. She spent the early 1950s working as a telephone switchboard operator. She was a 20-year retiree from the Hershey plant in Oakdale.

She and her husband moved to Escalon in the late '70s to manage the Mobile Home Park at Paddack Manor, where they made their home.

Survivors include her two sons, Kenneth Beck of Modesto and Daryl Beck of Stockton; seven grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She will be missed by her neighbors and a multitude of friends in the Oakdale, Escalon, Farmington, and Stockton areas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in December, 1999.

Visitation will be on Thursday, Jan. 27 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Deegan Funeral Chapel in Escalon.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, Jan. 28 at 11 a.m. at Escalon United Methodist Church with a luncheon to follow.

Burial will be private for her family at Burwood Cemetery.
