Gregory John Peters, 45, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012 at Hinds Hospice, Fresno, after a 21-year battle with brain cancer. His wife, brothers and mother were by his side.

Born March 23, 1967 in Oakland, he lived in Fresno with his wife Stephanie at the time of his death.

Mark Peters of Pleasanton; sisters-in-laws Karen Peters of Escalon and Sabrina Peters of Pleasanton; five nieces and nephews; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in Australia, Holland and Canada. He was fortunate to visit many of his extended relatives in all these countries, most notably a trip in 1992 he took with his father to Holland to see the family farm, which was still owned and operated by family.

His middle name of 'John' was in honor President John F. Kennedy, as JFK was the president when the family first migrated to the United States from Australia. He was the first family member born in America.
