Felicia Phillips, 88, passed away on June 12 at Kaiser Hospital in Sacramento.

She was a resident of Escalon for almost 50 years. Before moving to Escalon with her husband and two sons, they had lived in Dixon, California and before that she grew up in Patterson, California.

She grew up on a sheep ranch in Patterson where she learned how to work hard and take care of things. She met her husband of 55 years, the late Al Philips, at Patterson High School. After a few years in Vallejo, the newlyweds moved back to Patterson, then on to Dixon and finally settled in Escalon for the last 48 years.

Mrs. Phillips worked as a nurse for most of her career. She and her husband had many adventures, whether it was traveling through Europe or spending a month in North Dakota to see how cold it really gets in winter. They lived on Nob Hill in San Francisco for six weeks to live the high life, but truly loved their ranchette in Escalon.

She was an Escalon Grange member and enjoyed square dancing, spending time with family and friends, and working on her scrapbooks. She enjoyed trying new things, especially restaurants and foods. She had a kind heart and was a very sweet lady. She will truly be missed by friends and family.

Survivors include her sister, Anita Olson and her husband Charles; daughter-in-law Jacki Phillips; grandchildren Tracy Adams and Matthew Phillips; and great-granddaughters Rachel and Hannah Adams.

She was preceded in death by his husband, Al Phillips; sons Richard and Larry Phillips.

Services will be Thursday, June 19 with a visitation from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Deegan Funeral Chapel, Escalon, and a graveside service at 2 p.m. at Burwood Cemetery on River Road, Escalon.
