Evelyn Wineroth, 85, died in Modesto on Saturday, June 26.

She was born on Oct. 11, 1924 in Hazelton, Idaho. She moved to Modesto in 1930 and graduated from Modesto High School. She was the college bookstore manager for St. Mary's and Santa Clara University, and served as a Deacon at Escalon Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the National Association of College Stores, Casa de Modesto Mentors as well as the Red Hat Society.

Survivors include her daughters, Pamela LeCouve of Modesto and Susan Walker of Auburn; her grandchildren, Shane Atkinson of Valencia, Roxane Busch of Escalon, Tanya Rasmussen of Modesto, Marci Atkinson of Orangevale; six great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Helen Greenlee, Robert Jefferis and Shirley DaFer. She was preceded in death by her husband Harry Wineroth in 2002, her siblings Arlene Hobbs and Geri Jenkins as well as her parents Ross and Leila Jefferis.

Memorial service will be held on Friday, July 9 at 11 a.m. at Escalon Presbyterian Church.
