Ethel Lillian Semone, 82, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 24.

She was born Aug. 17, 1926.

As a young child she sang on the radio, she taught herself to play the piano. In her youth she and her brother Roy entered "jitter bug" dancing contest, and won awards.

Mrs. Semone was a loving, devoted woman, giving all of herself to her late husband Jim and their six children. She loved large family gatherings, preparing of holiday meals and all of the laughter and togetherness. Her love never wavered and she loved her life, her family and her God.

Survivors include her children, Joyce Caron (Joe) of Modesto, Janice Hasley (Roger) of Riverbank, Judy Smetana (Morris) of Brentwood, Tennessee, Jerry Semone (Moya) of Modesto, Jill Dunsee (Jeff) of Rio Oso, and daughter-in-law Teri Semone of Escalon; her brother Roy Felt of Turlock, her sister-in-law Louise Hansen of Modesto, and her brother and sister-in-law Art and Lou Semone of Escalon; 19 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; as well as her dearest friends Gene and Elizabeth Callsen of Arizona, and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Jim Semone Sr. who passed away in 2004; her son Jim Semone who passed away last year; her grandchildren Judy Caron and Jessica Semone, her parents and four sisters and one brother.

Memorial service was Monday, March 2 at Calvary Chapel in Modesto. Her burial followed at Burwood Cemetery.
