Ernest "Ern" Anthony Beeler, 54, passed away on Wednesday, July 27 from complications of lung cancer.

He was born on Aug. 17, 1956 in Escalon, the youngest of four children, to Adolph and Theresa Beeler. He went to grammar school at St. Anthony's in Manteca and graduated from Ripon High School in 1974. He worked for Bronco Winery, and was a member of the San Joaquin Valley Swiss Club.

He was a loving family man. He enjoyed riding go carts, going to car shows, yard sales, and concerts. His special hobby was playing pool. He enjoyed life to the fullest.

Survivors include his mother, Theresa Beeler; companion Anna Smartt, love of his life; his loving children, Christie (Greg) Darby, Ernest Jr., Rose, and Lucas; stepchildren, Heather, Christy, and Daniel; nine grandchildren; brother Joe (Theresa) Beeler of Ripon; sister Margaret "Gig" (Al) Ming of Escalon; sister-in-law Diana Beeler of Ripon, mother-in-law Mary Jo Smiley of Ripon, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his father, Adolph and brother, Frank.

Rosary and funeral mass was on Friday, Aug. 5 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with graveside service at St. John's Cemetery. Celebration of life followed at San Joaquin Valley Swiss Club, Ripon.
