Eleanor Jean Orosco (Rose), 81, passed away Monday, Sept. 13.

Born in La Jonta, Colorado on June 1, 1929, she was the eldest child of Virgil and Fay Rose.

Jean was a member of Big Valley Grace Community Church. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sports games and events, visiting friends and family, and dining out.

In her early adult life, Jean attended nursing school to become a CNA, served as a nurse during World War II and then she met her husband of 47 years. After the war, she worked for and retired from Kaiser Hospital in Santa Clara, California as a pediatric nurse. Jean loved children, and cherished every moment she was able to spend with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Jeffrey Orosco and family of Nevada, Jerry Orosco and family of Escalon, John Orosco of Modesto; and grandchildren Jack Orosco, Melissa Orosco, Michael and Mitchell Klepfer of Reno, Nevada.

She was preceded in death by her father, Virgil Rose and mother, Beulah Fay Rose of Escalon; her loving husband Thomas Orosco; their son Jackie Orosco; her sister Phillis May; and her two brothers, Jack and Jim Rose of Escalon.

Visitation was Thursday, Sept. 16 at Deegan Funeral Chapel in Escalon.

Graveside service will be held on Friday, Sept. 17 at 2 p.m. at Burwood Cemetery in Escalon.
