Edwin N. Pereira, 80, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 20.

He was born to Joseph and Louise Pereira in French Camp, CA on June 13, 1932.

He lived in Escalon all of his life, played football and ran track at Escalon High. He was an active longtime member and volunteer at St. Patrick's Church, Men of St. Patrick's, Our Lady of Fatima, Farm Bureau, U.P.E.C. Escalon and other various organizations.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Theresa Pereira; children, Carmen Pucilowski of Sacramento, David Pereira (Joyce) of Columbia, OR; John Pereira (Caroline) of Woodland and Anthony Pereira (Julie) of Escalon; step-children Irene Young of Modesto, Alfred Ferreira (Vickie) of Dallas, TX and George Ferreira (Sandra) of Ripon; 18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; siblings, Marie Smith (Louis) of Fremont and Gary Gomes (Rosemary) of Livermore; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 26 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 19401 Highway 120, Escalon.

A 10 a.m. rosary immediately followed by a Mass of Resurrection will be held Thursday, Dec. 27 at the church.
