Escalon - Edward Jerome Lucas passed away at his home on March 17, 2023, surrounded by his family. Ed was the eldest child born to Edward and Ellen Lucas on June 1, 1943, in San Jose. Ed graduated from Orestimba High School in 1962. Ed married Margaret (Armstrong) on April 23, 1966. They made Oakdale their home and it’s where they raised their children. They had three children: Michele, Lesa, and Scott. Ed held various jobs throughout his life, however he is most known for his expertise in the field of farm equipment sales. He was a proud employee of PAR at the time of his death. Ed was a devout Catholic, a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and a proud member of the Oakdale FES. Ed’s top priority was always his family. He was proud of his Portuguese heritage and enjoyed fishing and woodworking.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, sister Karen Rocha, and daughter Lesa. Ed leaves behind his wife of 56 years Marge, his children Michele (Manuel) Machado and Scott (Tina) Lucas; grandchildren Ashley (Vinnie), Joey (Alyssa), Eddie (Gabby) and Ella; great-grandchildren Eleanor, Antone, Alanna, and Ava; brother Ben (Bev) Lucas, Brother-in-Law Ed Rocha, and Sister-in-Law Linda Armstrong; many nephews, nieces, and godchildren.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 4 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. followed by a rosary at 6 p.m. at the Oakdale FES Hall. A funeral mass will take place on Wednesday, April 5 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oakdale. Following the services, Ed will be laid to rest at Oakdale Citizens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1225 Olive Street, Oakdale or Oakdale FES, PO Box 709, Oakdale. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Oakdale Memorial Chapel.
