Dr. Eileen Silva

Dr. Eileen Norma Silva, 65 of Southlake, Texas passed away on Friday, Oct.5 after a long illness.

She was born to Calvin and Evelyn Bunch on Sept. 17, 1947 in Escalon, CA. Eileen graduated from Escalon High School with Honors in 1965. She received Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from California State University in 1969 and 1972, and has two doctorates from Clayton College in Atlanta, Georgia in 2004 and 2005. She taught Home Economics at Escalon High School for 14 years, was a guidance counselor for four years and is a member of the MLMIA "Top 25 In The World" Hall of Fame.

Dr. Silva has authored several books on health and wellness, was a popular guest on radio and TV programs from coast to coast with a special series for TBS's "Ask the Doctors." She was a Crown Presidential Director for FirstFitness Nutrition for over 20 years, conducting free health seminars and her ever-so-popular bootcamps.

She is survived by her husband Taylor (Hegan), mother Evelyn (Bunch), father Calvin (Bunch), and brother Larry Bunch; her beloved, as very her own, daughter, Katie Graham, son-in-law, Jeffrey Graham; cherished son, Trey Hegan; grandchildren, Tanner and Abbie.

Eileen was much loved and her delightful personality and caring ways leaves a hole in the hearts of those that knew her. She was the problem solver and loving caretaker of the family and her visits to this area were much enjoyed by her family and friends. She took pleasure in taking her mother on trips to Europe and to the spa in Monterey. She will be greatly missed.

Funeral services were at Gateway Church, 700 Blessed Way, Southlake, Texas, on Saturday, Oct. 13.
