Diana was born in Saltillo, Mexico and died in Palm Springs, California after a short illness.
Diana grew up in Mexico attending University and earning her Master’s in Linguistics. There she met a visiting American professor, fell in love, and moved to Escalon. She resided in Escalon for over 50 years, raising her children and working for Migrant Education in the Escalon Schools and then began a second career when she turned 50 as a court interpreter at the Stanislaus Court House in Modesto.
Diana was known for her delicious cooking and her garden. She loved to cook, and she taught many people how to cook her favorite dishes, always commenting that the best ingredient is love.
Diana is survived by her son, Martin Moreno, his wife Helen and two grandchildren, Elliot and Wyatt and her daughter, Margarita Moreno, and granddaughters Layla and Julie. She also delighted in being Nana to numerous children of friends. Nana was definitely her favorite role in life.
A celebration of Diana’s life will be held August 13, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 2180 Jordanollo, Escalon, CA.
