Dennis P. Barrett, 55, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 9 in Stockton.

He was a resident of Stockton for 22 years. He was born on Dec. 29, 1955 in Oakland, to Frank and Dolores Barrett.

Mr. Barrett worked at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory for over 33 years. He was an active member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Escalon.

He was a former coach, league representative and past president for the "Escalon Outlaws" Pop Warner Football teams. He was a strong supporter of Escalon Cougar Football. He was an avid participant in sports throughout his life with Little League baseball, football and adult softball. He loved spending time with his family, camping, fishing and boating. His family said, "He was a loving and devoted husband and father."

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Shelly R. Barrett of Stockton; his sons, Daniel P. Barrett and Michael T. Barrett, both of Stockton; two brothers, David Barrett, Richard Barrett; his sister, Patty Spooner and her husband, Dan; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Sharon Manha of Union City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his oldest brother, Jim Barrett.

Services for Mr. Barrett were under the direction of PL Fry & Son Funeral Home, Manteca, with visitation held Monday, Aug. 15, and a rosary/mass on Tuesday, Aug. 16, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Burial was at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
