Delia V. Gonzales, 72, passed away at her home in Escalon on Thursday, Jan. 24.

She was born on May 21, 1935 in Oakland.

She is survived by her husband Ernest; her children, Angelina E. Medina of Escalon, Anna M. Gomes of Hayward, Maria D. Aguilar of Escalon and Ernest A. Gonzales Jr. of San Leandro; 12 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and her siblings, Marie Mendoza of Stockton, Frank Gonzales of Stockton, John Gonzales of Vacaville and Albert Gonzales of Hayward.

She was a courageous woman who inspired many lives and was greatly loved. She taught every one of her children to be strong and never give up and they honor her with great pride. She fought a courageous battle and won.

Visitation will be on Thursday, Jan. 31 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Deegan Funeral Chapel, Escalon. Mass will be on Friday, Feb. 1 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Escalon, with burial following at St. John's Cemetery.
