Barbara Due, 85, passed away on Monday, June 11 in Modesto.

She was born on June 23, 1926 in Stockton, CA, where she was raised and educated. After marrying Floyd Due, they moved to the family ranch in Escalon, where they began farming row crops and ultimately converted to almonds and grapes. She and her husband loved to travel the world together.

Mrs. Due was a 4-H club leader and 4-H county and state judge. She was a very gifted seamstress and designed and sewed her own creations. She was also an antique collector, and was involved in several different clubs such as Cow Belles, Federated Woman's Club of Manteca, Atlanta Woman's Club, Ripon Arts League, and Del Rio County Club just to name a few. Her later passion in life was the game of Bridge. She was such a fine player that everyone wanted to be on her team, and no one wanted to play against her. She took great pleasure in entertaining and socializing with people, who later ended up establishing lasting friendships and fond memories with her.

Survivors include her children, Albert Due (Gail) of Escalon, Nancy Hudson-LoBello (Jim) of Escalon, Larry Due (Janice) of Tracy, and Carol LaRosa (David) of Modesto; grandchildren Douglas Due (Lisa) of Port Angeles, Washington, Kerry Due of Ripon, Elizabeth Mangnuson (Dave) of Escalon, Elliot Due of Paso Robles, Emily Due of San Luis Obispo, Adam LaRosa of San Francisco, and her step-granddaughters Sabrina LoBello of Fresno and Jenny LoBello-Bramble (Marty) of Modesto; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Robert (Bob) Vincent and Inez Vincent, along with her husband Floyd Due and her sister Marjorie Nilsson.

Her children wish to emphasize their gratitude to the staff of Dale Commons in Modesto, and Valley Comfort in Modesto, for their friendship, kindness, caring, and respect shown Barbara and her family.
