

Anna Lee Hoek peacefully passed away September 19, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Always known as Annie by her family and friends. Annie was born February 14, 1946 in Stockton, CA to parents, Denny and Maxine Barlow. Annie grew up in Escalon and resided there for 26 years until calling Riverbank home. As a devout Baptist, Annie cherished her church family as well as volunteering in the community. Annie was a huge 49’er and Giants fan; she also enjoyed dancing, sewing her own clothing, lover of dogs, spending time with the great grandkids, watching the hummingbirds and butterflies as they flutter by, and one cannot forget the Price is Right!
Annie is survived by her companion of five years, Dee Shaffer; sister, Bonnie Risso of Paso Robles; step-children, Steven Hoek (Lanita) of Idaho, Greg Hoek (Sara) of Arizona and Brian Hoek of Escalon; grandchildren include, Joshua Hoek (Lacey) of Escalon, Christine Hoek of Hawaii, Stacey Hoek (George) of Delhi, Cortney Hoek (John) of Oakdale, Phillip Hoek of Hawaii, Jason Hoek of Texas, Emily Placido (Derik) of Manteca, Maria Hoek (Lance) of Stevenson, Paul Crocker (Jackie) of Idaho and Michael Hoek (Hannah) of Texas; 16 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. Annie is preceded in death by her late husband, Thomas Hoek of 42 years and her stepson, Eric Hoek.
Deegan Funeral Chapel is honored to be serving the Hoek family. A Memorial Service for Annie will be held Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 503 Scenic Drive, Modesto, CA 95350 at 11 a.m.
