Angel Cornejo Rubio passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his home in Escalon, the day after his 74th birthday. Angel was born on December 5, 1946 to parents, Angel Cornejo Ramirez and Margarita Cornejo Rubio in Ixmiquilpan, Hidalgo, Mexico. Angel has lived in Escalon for the past 51 years.
Angel grew up loving to swim and had a natural talent for it. He was also very proud of his job at Escalon Packers where he was a driver for over 36 years. He enjoyed working on classic muscle cars, watching action movies and listening to music. Angel was very patriotic and loved visiting his home in Mexico. Above all else, Angel was a family man. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren and loved spending time with them.
Angel leaves behind his wife of 51 years, Amparo Cornejo, his children, Claudia Cornejo-Barboza his son-in -law Gilbert Barboza, Veronica Cornejo and Angel Cornejo Jr. and his granddaughters, Sophia Barboza and Rebecca Cornejo. Angel also leaves behind his siblings, Victoria Tejeda, Margarita Manzo, Jesus Cornejo, Gerardo Cornejo and Esteban Cornejo. Angel is preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Garcia.
