Amos Trigg

Amos Leroy Trigg, 88, passed away on Monday, Nov. 19 at his daughter's home in Escalon.

He was born in Amarillo, Texas to parents Leroy V. Trigg and Addie (Musgrave) Trigg. He attended schools in Lubbock, Texas, and came to California with his parents and settled in Salinas in 1940. He served in the Army/Air Corps during World War II, and after the war he attended Drake University in Iowa, he then returned to Salinas and worked in construction in Salinas and Santa Cruz.

In January of 1947 he married the former Leola Kelso and in 1958 they moved with their children to San Jose where he became foreman for Varian Associates in Palo Alto. In 1966 Amos and Leola moved to Collegeville with their four youngest children where he owned and operated Trigg Transportation and then later opened Discount Tire in Stockton for thirty years. After having a stroke in 2003 Amos and Leola moved to Escalon to live with their daughter and her family.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Leola Trigg of Escalon; daughters Martha Jane (Leonard) Watkins of Mulberry Arkansas, Cheryl (Lynn) Bruce of Zeeland, Michigan, Janice Freitas of Stockton; Genise (Dave) Perruquet of Escalon; sons Don (Barbara) Trigg of Visalia and Ryan Trigg of Stockton; 22 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and step dad Roger M. Walker and one son, Leon Trigg.

The family would like to thank Community Hospice for all their loving care and request that any gifts be donated in memory of Amos L. Trigg to Community Hospice, 4368 Spyres Way, Modesto, CA 95356.

Services were Monday, Nov. 26 at Deegan Funeral Chapel, Escalon. Burial followed at Burwood Cemetery.
