Amelia Espinola, 91, passed away in Manteca on Monday, September 14.

She was born on August 25, 1918 in Porto Judeo, Terceira, Azores.

She attended St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Escalon, and had been a resident of Stockton for 23 years. She enjoyed housework, sewing, crocheting and loved taking trips to Brasil and Portugal.

Survivors include her children, Urbano and Alcina Sousa of the Azores, Carlos Sousa of Riverbank, Rosa and Frank Amaral of Acampo, Conceicao and Ruy Muna of Brasil, Ilberto and MaryLou Sousa of Stockton, and Elder and Manuela Sousa of Acampo; 22 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jose Sousa who passed away in 1972, and her sons Jose Sousa and Alberto Sousa.

She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who especially loved her great grandchildren.

Rosary/Mass was Monday, Sept. 21 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Escalon. Burial followed at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
