Alfred R. Traphagan was born on September 15, 1936 in Bakersfield, Ca. He attended Downey High School in Modesto, Ca. where he enjoyed playing quarterback on the varsity football team all four years.In September of 1955, Alfred married his beloved wife, Susan. They soon moved to Escalon where they raised their two sons, Troy and Jason.
