A long-running and well-known fireworks show is on the schedule this weekend, as Stanislaus County Parks and Recreation puts on its annual event at Woodward Reservoir. The early Fourth of July celebration is planned on Saturday, June 28 with fireworks due to begin at 9:30 p.m.

There will be several road closures in the area, including Dodds Road, Hinds Road, Dorsey Road and Eastman Road around the reservoir, along with one at 28-Mile Road and Frankenheimer Road with the closures lifted after the fireworks display. Specifically, Dodds Road will be closed between 26-Mile Road and Cometa Road; Dorsey will be closed between 26-Mile and 28-Mile roads. Also, Eastman Road will be closed between 26-Mile and 28-Mile roads and the Hinds Road closure will be between 26-Mile Road and Lambuth Avenue.

Parks and Recreation officials also listed the following ticket pre-sale information: Day use tickets for the reservoir are $30 per vehicle (no discounts) and the ticket guarantees day use entry; one vehicle per ticket and no boats allowed. Campsites at Woodward are on a first come, first serve basis and there will be no ‘in and out privileges’ the day of the event, so attendees are asked to plan accordingly.

Pre-sale day use tickets are recommended, as the entrance to Woodward off 26-Mile Road, Oakdale, will be closed when capacity is reached. Only those with the pre-sale day use tickets will be allowed in once the gates are closed.

Officials also said there will be added law enforcement resources surrounding the park perimeter for the show, which features the fireworks being shot off over the reservoir.

Woodward Reservoir is at 14528 26-Mile Road, Oakdale. For more information and to purchase tickets, call 209-525-6750 or visit: www.stancountyparks.com/fireworks
