Virtual Events Continue At Escalon Branch Library

Though there aren’t any in person programs, there is still plenty to do at the Escalon Library, with a host of virtual offerings for all ages.

Also, the Friends of the Escalon Library can help check off a couple names from your Christmas list with their See’s Candy fundraiser. Those interested can purchase items (cash only) at the library or contact Friends member Sally Hale at 209-605-3895, call or text, for information or to order.

Hale said they have a variety of candy, from the popular milk chocolates to nuts and chews, molasses chips to lollipops and proceeds help support the programs put on by the Friends organization.

The library is open regular hours, but with business conducted in the lobby including pick-up of reserved items, information and the ongoing candy sale. The Friends also continues getting books to eventually offer at their book sale, when COVID restrictions are lifted.

Regular library hours for Escalon are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

There are virtual story times, book clubs, teen events and more. The library is also in the midst of its ‘Winter Reading Challenge’ with logs available for pick-up at the library lobby. The challenge began Dec. 1 and runs through Jan. 21 with the opportunity to win prizes for all ages based on the number of books read. Serving as Escalon librarian is Nazli Ali; the library is at 1540 Second Street.
